Safety Construction Manager Job Summary: Our Los Angeles County-based Construction Company Client is seeking a full-time Safety Construction Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting safety training through various means to ensure comprehension and compliance with company, customer, and regulated standards. Bilingual Spanish/English required.
Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Fully supports all IES safety policies, procedures, programs, and federal and state standards.
- Conduct safety training and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
- Develop and implement safety programs and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain safety records and prepare reports for management.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of safety equipment.
- Provide guidance and support to site supervisors and employees on safety-related matters.
- Collaborate with management to develop safety goals and objectives.
Requirements: - Must have 30 hours of Safety, Health, and Environmental Training.
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience; or four (4) years of work experience related to construction.
- Work experience must be a minimum part-time (18 hrs/week) to qualify.
- An associate degree or higher in occupational safety, risk management, or construction management is preferred.
- Completion of a two (2) year trade or union training program/apprenticeship is also acceptable.
Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements: - Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Must possess a minimum of five (5) years' experience in construction, including two (2) years of safety training, preferably in the construction industry.
- Extensive knowledge of OSHA CFR 1926 Standards.
- Extensive knowledge and experience with the Confined Space Entry Standards (1926.1200 Subpart AA).
- Must have current certification as an Authorized OSHA OTI 500.
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
