Forensic Nurse Examiner

Base Pay Range

$35.00/hr $54.00/hr

Description

Location: UCHealth UCHth Parkview Medical Center, Pueblo, CO.
Department: PMC Forensic Nurses.
Full?time (PRN, 0 and 0.00 hours per pay period) with a flexible shift schedule. Requires 90?120 hours of on?call coverage per schedule.

Responsibilities


  • Takes medical history, assesses psychological condition, and performs physical examination of assault victims.
  • Collects and preserves evidence, documents findings.
  • Provides nursing care of injuries, prophylactic medications, and referrals.
  • Communicates with victims, families, law enforcement, and provides advocacy and expert testimony.
  • Operates with critical thinking, decisive judgment, and minimal supervision in a fast?paced environment.


Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited RN program; licensed RN in Colorado.
  • Completion of Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) training within 3 months of hire (64?hour didactic education certificate).
  • BLS credential (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) with current card.
  • At least 1 year RN experience (acute care/hospital) or 6 months experience as Advanced Practice Nurse.
